National Preparedness Month (NPM) is recognized each September to promote family and community disaster planning now and throughout the year. As our nation continues to respond to COVID-19, there is no better time to be involved this September. The Holiday Park Volunteer Fire Department is proud to present a series of classes free of charge to the residents & employees of businesses within Plum Borough.

Class Details

– Each class will be limited to 20 students.
– Each class will adhere to COVID-19 Safety/Health protocols, masks will be required.
– Each class will have its own registration form to sign-up/apply for it (see below).
– Some classes will be restricted to adults 18+; see each class description for details.
– Acceptance into class will be residents and employees of Plum businesses first, then all others.

Classes Available

CPR and AED Training
– Date: Wednesday, September 9, 2020
– Time: 7:00pm to 10:00pm
– Location: Holiday Park VFD Social Hall
– Learn how to perform CPR on an infant, child, and/or adult along with the proper use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
– Open to all ages, recommended for teens and adults

Home Fire Safety
– Date: Wednesday, September 16, 2020
– Time: 7:00pm to 10:00pm
– Location: Holiday Park VFD Social Hall
– Learn how to develop evacation plans, fire prevention, & safety checks for your home and family.
– Held in conjunction with the Renton Volunteer Fire Department
– Students will recieve a free smoke detector dual pack with CO detector. (One per family).
– Open to adults, age 18+

First Aid and Stop the Bleed
– Date: Wednesday, September 23, 2020

– Protect your family by being able to respond to medical emergencies such as allergic reactions, bleeding, broken bones, burns, choking, eye injuries, shock, & more.
– Open to all ages, recommended for teens and adults

Community Fire Extinguisher Program

– Fire Extinguishers in the home and vehicles are a valuable tool to combat unexpected fires. Learn which ones is best to use and how to use it properly.
– Open to adults, age 18+
