Knowing how to control bleeding from a serious injury is essential knowledge to keep you and those around you safe. Although many aspects of daily life have been on hold for more than a year, traumatic injuries have continued to occur.

The past two evenings, Holiday Park VFD has held free Stop the Bleed and CPR/AED classes for the community to learn these valuable skills. From bleeding control & tourniquets to CPR & choking assistance, everyday citizens learned how they can help save a life and begin the “๐—–๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—ป ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—ฆ๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐˜ƒ๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฎ๐—น”.

Class Instructors:
– Alex Marcelewski, HPVFD Medical Officer (AHA, EMS, & Stop the Bleed Instructor)
– Jim Sims, HPVFD Fire Chief (Stop the Bleed Instructor)
– Josh Scalamogna, HPVFD Ast Fire Chief (AHA Instructor)
– Joe Volpe, HPVFD FF/Paramedic (AHA Instructor)

We offer these classes twice a year (May & September) but our colleagues at Plum EMS offer these classes every month. You can sign-up on their website. Our next class at the fire department will be in September during our National Preparedness Month education series.
