๐Ÿ”Œ๐Ÿ”‹โ€œCharge into Fire Safetyโ„ข: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Homeโ€ is theme for Fire Prevention Week: this yearโ€™s focus on lithium-ion batteries works to better educate the public about how to buy, charge, and dispose of them safely. On October 9th, Plum Borough has a special community event to educate our citizens on this topic…

Most of the electronics in our homes โ€” smartphones, tablets, power and lawn tools, laptops, e-cigarettes, headphones, and toys, to name just a few โ€” are powered by lithium-ion batteries. If not used correctly or damaged, they can overheat and start a fire or explode. โ€œCharge into Fire Safetyโ„ข: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Homeโ€ provides the information, guidance, and resources needed to use lithium-ion batteries with caution and care.

Join us for a free community event where Allegheny County Chief Deputy Fire Marshall, Donald Brucker will share practical tips on safe charging, storage, and handling of these powerful batteries.
