Holiday Park VFD was awarded a renewal from the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Bureau of EMS to remain a EMS Education Sponsor allowing us to continue hosting EMS classes & courses at our facility. The past three years we have held numerous opportunities for EMS providers in our area to earn Continuing Education Credits & keep their skills fresh.
In 2018, the PA Department of Health, first designated the Holiday Park VFD as a Continuing Education Sponsor & Site; where we are allowed to host EMS classes/courses that award credit to existing EMS providers as mandated by the state to maintain certification. Some of the classes hosted range from BLS Skills refresher to Cold Weather Injury Response to Water Rescues to the Emergency Medical Responder course.
We currently have three members who are state certified EMS Instructors and six CPR/AED Instructors certified by the American Heart Association.
For special classes/courses, we bring in experts from organizations such as Allegheny Health Network, Allegheny County Emergency Services, Bucks County Fire School, and more! Most classes/courses are free except for those few occassions when it is part of paid program.
