
Today we highlight one of younger members, Junior Firefighter Jordan Hammond, who has been with us for two years and has already completed a good portion of his firefighter certification training, at this point only limited by age requirements.

Volunteer Time: 2 Years at Holiday Park VFD
Jordan joined our fire department over two years ago after participating in our annual Fire Camp for Teens. He is the first to volunteer for drills & details; and this year was appointed one of the two Liaisons to the Line Officers on behalf of all the junior firefighters as their representative.
He has has completed all available Firefighter training classes for his age group and has committed to earning his Emergency Medical Responder so he can join our EMS/QRS operations. When he turns 17, he will be eligible under state law to complete his Interior Firefighter certification.
Jordan was awarded the Junior Firefighter of the Year Award for 2025 at our annual banquet on January 31, 2026.He excels in balancing his time between the Drum Line for the school band, cooking, and the fire department while maintaining his excellent grades at Plum Senior High School.

Fun Fact: Jordan loves to cook; so many times during weekend drill or staffing events, he steps forward to offer to be the chef/grillmaster and prepare a tasty meal for the crew.
