Holiday Park VFD will once again host an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) course facilitated by CCAC’s Public Safety Institute. This will be the fourth time the fire department has hosted the class and the past three classes resulted in numerous departments gaining excellent EMR’s for their response staff.

Course Info

This program provides training in emergency medical care designed for initial responders to an accident or medical emergency prior to ambulance arrival. Topics include airway care, CPR, AED, oxygen administration, control of bleeding and prevention of shock, and treatment of trauma and medical emergencies. This course also includes a final practical evaluation of skills and a final written exam of knowledge.

Students who successfully complete this course are eligible to take PA Department of Health certification exams for Emergency Medical Responder. PA DOH Functional Position Description for EMR lists capability requirements for certification.
