Night 6 of our program shifted the participants to the EMS side our department with everyone getting trained on CPR for adults, pediatrics, and infants during the class following the American Heart Association guidelines. Participants were joined by a few family members who wanted to learn these key skills too.
At the end of the class, Chief Sims & Medical Officer Marcelewski demonstrated the LUCAS (automated compression delivery device) and how it plays into cardiac arrest responses to improve quality of compressions, patient care, and relief from fatigue for rescuers.
Next week, the class will cover First Aid and Stop the Bleed training.
