The officers & members of the Holiday Park VFD are proud to offer our congratulations to FF Brittany Franitti on her passing the national examination for Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
Brittany will next focus on her HPVFD QRS qualifications to become a “Lead EMS Provider” on a call by working with our veteran EMT’s, completing some additional continuing education topics, and gaining experience in the field.
We look forward to Brittany being a good member on our QRS/EMS team!
In addition to Brittany being an FF/EMT, she also serves as Secretary on the administrative side of the department.
(Per EMS West, governing council for EMS in Western PA) Emergency Medical Technician is a course that teaches lifesaving skills such as CPR, bleeding control, airway management, assisted medications, treatment for medical and trauma emergencies, and ambulance operations. These courses are usually 150-200 hours in duration as well as a field component to treat and assess patients. You must be at least 16 years of age. You can then certify by successfully completing the National Registry of EMTs exam which includes both a skills and computer exam.
