
236-Rescue & 236-Chief responded to earlier today to a multi-vehicle accident involving a tri-axle truck on Golden Mile Highway in area of New Texas Road in Plum Borough. The truck was carrying a load of coal and in the course of the accident, the load spilled all over the roadway along with fuel.
The driver of the truck was entrapped and had to extricated by fire personnel before EMS could assess him. One individual from another of the vehicles involved was also injured and attended to by EMS crews.
Due to the coal and fuel on the roadway, 236-Chief called for PENNDOT to come to the scene with heavy duty equipment to clear the road. They arrived shortly within a reasonable time and after a period of time was able to clear and reopen the roadway.
