This evening, a group of Plum residents took part in our free ๐—–๐—ผ๐—บ๐—บ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ถ๐˜๐˜† ๐—™๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐˜€๐˜ ๐—”๐—ถ๐—ฑ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ฆ๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฝ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—•๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—–๐—น๐—ฎ๐˜€๐˜€ as part of our ๐™‰๐™–๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ค๐™ฃ๐™–๐™ก ๐™‹๐™ง๐™š๐™ฅ๐™–๐™ง๐™š๐™™๐™ฃ๐™š๐™จ๐™จ ๐™ˆ๐™ค๐™ฃ๐™ฉ๐™ educational series. The class led by Fire Chief Jim Sims and Medical Officer Alex Marcelewski focused on life saving first aid skills and general medical emergencies encountered at home, at work, and while traveling. From burns to broken bones and heat stroke, participants learned what to watch out for, how to initially treat, and what to carry with them. They also took part in the national Stop the Bleed training program that focuses on bleeding control and rescue techniques.

Each participant took home a free Bleeding Control Kit that contained items such as:
compression gauze
pressure trauma bandage
tourniquet
carbon pen
emergency blanket
and trauma shears

They also received a personal hand sanitizer kit & clip from Allegheny Health Network & Forbes Medical Center.
