Wednesday evening was Night 7 of our program in which our participants took part in the American Heart Association First Aid course as well as Stop The Bleed ACS, a joint US Department of Defense program.

First aid skills such as bleeding control, injury assessment, scene safety, allergic reactions, splinting, slings, EpiPens, Narcan, identifying heart attacks, strokes, seizures, and more…

The Stop the Bleed portion focused on responding to severe bleeding situations where an escalation of help is required: direct pressure, compression, packing the wound, and finally use of tourniquets.

Next week its graduation night, where our participants will have a commence ceremony and dinner with Chief Deputy Fire Marshal Don Brucker as our guest speaker.

Media Inquires and Public Information requests for the fire department will be handled by our Public Information Officer/Community Outreach Officer by emailing to info@holidayparkvfd.org
