This past Wednesday, our program participants learned about ladder company operations along with tools associated with it: saws, power tools, hand tools, and ground ladders. The night did start with a fire prevention lecture on carbon monoxide responses. Next we shifted to “Forcible Entry” where everyone learned how to breech a door.
At the end of the night those who wanted to were given the opportunity to climb the main aerial of our ladder truck.
Next week the program shifts to Vehicle Extrication Operations with participants gaining knowledge and hands on time with our tools such as jaws of life, o-ring cutter, stabilization and more!
