Saturday was a busy day for Holiday Park VFD as our firefighters were taking part in active incidents around the area along with helping cover agencies in Allegheny & Westmoreland Counties.

At 5:30pm, our ladder truck’; known as the ๐™‚๐™ค๐™ก๐™™๐™š๐™ฃ ๐™ˆ๐™ž๐™ก๐™š ๐™ƒ๐™ž๐™œ๐™๐™ฌ๐™–๐™ฎ ๐™๐™ง๐™ช๐™˜๐™ ๐™ž๐™ฃโ€™ ๐˜พ๐™ค๐™ข๐™ฅ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™ฎ; was dispatched to Oklahoma Borough in Westmoreland County for a confirmed fire. 236-Truck was the fill unit for another agency; which responded with four firefighters to the scene of a 2-story residential dwelling fire.

On scene, 236-Truck was requested to open up the second floor ceilings and walls to expose the fire for extinguishment. Crews operated for about two hours rotating in and out of the dwelling before being cleared to return to quarters.

While 236-Truck was working the residential fire, our Rescue was dispatched also into Westmoreland County for a Motor Vehicle Accident on Turkey Ridge Road in Upper Burrell. 236-Rescue responded with a crew of five firefighters to handle the incident while other agencies were tied up in Oklahoma Borough. All hazards on the accident scene were mitigated and 236-Rescue returned back to Plum to continue help cover the various agencies in Allegheny and Westmoreland counties involved in the residential fire.

Job well done to both crews as well as those members who remained in station to help cover additional calls.
