The officers & members of the Holiday Park VFD are proud to offer our congratulations to the following personnel on earning the National Firefighter 1 Pro Board Certification:
– 1st Lieutenant Tyler Brucker
– Firefighter/EMT Dan Giannettino
– Firefighter/EMT Garett Wagner
– Junior Firefighter Logan Kosko-Kennedy
The Pro Board Firefighter 1 certification is an internationally recognized, accredited credential verifying a firefighter meets rigorous NFPA standards (1001) for professional competence. It acts as a gold standard in the fire service, ensuring portability of skills and proficiency in basic firefighting tactics, rescue, and hazmat operations.
These four members dedicated time the past few months to preparing for the rigorous certification exam made up a written test and a day of skills’ stations mastering. In addition to taking part in a accelerated prep-class, they also spent significant amount of time at the fire station honing those skills and helping each other prepare all while responding to emergency calls and department training events.
