When it comes to responding to emergency calls the safety of the Emergency Responders, the patient, and the public is a top priority. Several aspects of that involves training and protective equipment. We continue our EMS Week 2020 reflections today on Safety Tuesday!

๐™’๐™ž๐™ฉ๐™ ๐™ฉ๐™๐™š ๐™ž๐™ข๐™ฅ๐™–๐™˜๐™ฉ ๐™ค๐™› ๐˜พ๐™Š๐™‘๐™„๐˜ฟ-19 ๐˜พ๐™ค๐™ง๐™ค๐™ฃ๐™– ๐™‘๐™ž๐™ง๐™ช๐™จ; safety is critical in maintaining patient care, provider protection, and public awareness in these unusual times. Our EMS Providers have two levels of personal protective equipment meant to minimize potential exposures not only to themselves but also further out to the public. Extensive time has been spent building specialized equipment bags, in-depth training, and patient care protocol system, all designed to keep everyone safe.

๐˜ฟ๐™ง๐™ž๐™ซ๐™š๐™ง ๐™ฉ๐™ง๐™–๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ ๐™ž๐™จ ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™ค๐™ฉ๐™๐™š๐™ง ๐™ ๐™š๐™ฎ ๐™–๐™จ๐™ฅ๐™š๐™˜๐™ฉ of Safety Tuesday. All of our emergency drivers have gone through a course called Emergency Vehicle Driver Training that specifically teaches how to drive in emergency situations safely.

๐™Ž๐™๐™–๐™ง๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ ๐™จ๐™–๐™›๐™š๐™ฉ๐™ฎ ๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ฅ๐™จ ๐™ฌ๐™ž๐™ฉ๐™ ๐™ฉ๐™๐™š ๐™ฅ๐™ช๐™—๐™ก๐™ž๐™˜ is something we dedicate time to throughout the year, like other emergency agencies, to help prevent injuries in various situations. These include weather safety (heat stroke, frostbite), pool/swimming tips, cooking (burns) and more… We encourage everyone to watch for these on our Facebook, Instagram, and our HolidayParkVFD.org website.
