Our CCAC Public Safety Institute EMR Students are in the home stretch with a hand-full of classes left before their final exam. Wednesday night, Jeff Wess from Allegheny Health Network – Prehospital Care Services (Forbes Hospital) was our guest speaker going through the importance of trauma & medical handoff’s, medical command review, and tips for effective responses for new EMS Providers.
The last few classes, the students have been focusing their skills around Trauma incidents, rescue ops, bone injuries, and bleeding control.
As their final exam approaches, in two weeks, they are completing their skill stations and reinforcement of EMS knowledge learned in class. Confidence levels are higher than the beginning of class as they have absorbed so much.
