Welcome home and congratulations to our own Lt. Mike Schuster, FF/Engineer Nic Albert, & FF/EMT Aly Bryner who have successfully completed the “π™‡π™žπ™«π™š π™π™žπ™§π™š π™π™§π™–π™žπ™£π™žπ™£π™œ π˜Ύπ™–π™’π™₯” at the Fire Department Training Network (FDTN) in Indianapolis, IN earlier this week. This is an aggressive firefighter program that features six blocks of live fire training, each focused on performing actual fire-ground skills under intense & realistic conditions.

Two years ago, the department sent four of our officers to the same fire camp and they came back with important skills that they in turn shared with the firefighter cadre. The investment of training funds and time are well worth it for those who have attended. They all comment on how they appreciated the real-life live scenarios during the training.

The National Fireground Training Academy is FDTN’s state-of-the-art, 50-acre, firefighting academy located near Indianapolis, Indiana. The Academy operates multiple training and burn buildings designed to replicate most fireground situations encountered by firefighters during actual responses. All buildings are designed to provide students with the most realistic fireground training environment possible.
