The first day of 2024 started early for Holiday Park VFD as crews had the first emergency call at 1am and then five more calls to round out the day.
Included in those six calls, was a mutual aid request from the Monroeville Fire Department for our ATV and Rescue to support a technical rescue operation that they were conducting near Route 286 in a steep wooded area. A hunter became injured that morning and calls for assistance were made to rescue him. Fire & EMS personnel from Monroeville were first on scene and it was determined that they needed Holiday Park VFD’s ATV unit as well as Rescue to complete the complex technical rescue down the hillside.
