The officers & members of the Holiday Park VFD are proud to offer our congratulations to Lieutenant Greg Carbone on passing the National Registry Examination for the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification. He will initially be issued his EMT certification from Ohio and then apply for reciprocity for Pennsylvania, so it will be a few weeks before Greg can perform any EMT functions with our department on medical calls.
Greg is another member of our “Ohio Crew”; a group of three young Firefighters from Ohio who drive in on extended weekends to “bunk-in” & staff the fire station. He joined us two summers ago as a fire cadet, then as a member then on camp staff. Greg already has his Firefighter 1 and Firefighter 2 certifications.
Once Greg obtains his PA EMT certification, he will spend time on completing some additional continuing education topics associated with the EMT Scope of Practice in Pennsylvania and go through our fire department’s preceptor program for new EMS providers before his allowed to run calls as a lead provider or without a preceptor with him per our department policies.
