Since the original airing of the WTAE-TV story on the impact COVID-19 Corona Virus is having on volunteer fire department and rescue squads; the response from the community near & far has been tremendous. Suggestions & ideas on how to recoup from Fish Fry and fundraising closures have been good to hear; we appreciate the feedback and so do many of our fellow departments in the same situation.

Rest assured our department will not be wasting any food purchased for the fish fry season. We are looking at an event down the road to use; possibly a take-out night; pending the outcome of the current Stay at Home Orders.

In the event we are unable to use the inventory; we will like we have in the past; donate it to local charities and homeless shelters/missions. It will not go to waste under any circumstance.

As with all volunteer fire departments across the state and nation; we truly appreciate it when the community jumps in to help; whether with suggestions, moral support, donations, or whatever idea they come up with.

The volunteer fire service began in Pennsylvania with Benjamin Franklin and we and our fellow departments are here to carry on that tradition of serving the community!

May you and your families stay healthy and safe in these uncertain days; remember we are here for you 24/7!

Media Inquires and Public Information requests for the fire department will be handled by our Public Information Officer/Community Outreach Officer by emailing to info@holidayparkvfd.org
