Night 5 of our program focused on Vehicle Rescue techniques utilizing several vehicles courtesy of Clyde’s Auto Service, Repair & Towing followed by Fire Extinguisher training.

Participants were exposed for the first time to several key tools of the trade including High Powered Spreaders (Jaws of Life), Cutters, Combi-Tools, Rams, Windshield Slicer, & Air Chisels. Stabilization techniques with cribbing and struts were also reviewed. Each participant received hands-on experience with multiple tools on multiple vehicles conducting acts such as door removal, roof removal, dash rollback, etc…

The evening ended with a Fire Extinguisher trainer which participants tried various types/sizes of Fire Extinguisher to put out a controlled fire pit.

Next week, the program shifts to Emergency Medical aspects as the participants will earn their CPR certification from the American Heart Association followed by the next week with First Aid & Stop the Bleed sessions.
