On Saturday afternoon, Logans Ferry Heights Volunteer Fire Department & Holiday Park Volunteer Fire Department from Plum Borough along with Upper Burrell Volunteer Fire Company #1 & Lower Burrell VFC No. 1 from Westmoreland County responded to Edwards Road off of Logans Ferry Road in Plum for a large brush fire. Our 236-Engine responded with a crew of five firefighters to assist.

Due to the location of the fire and limited access to a fire hydrant; a tanker truck was called in from Upper Burrell VFC #1 to maintain the water supply.

Several other brush fires broke out in Plum and surrounding communities into the evening as a result of today’s weather & environmental conditions. 236-Engine upon completing this fire incident, went directly to another brush fire in the Unity VFD section of Plum.

Plum EMS & the Plum Borough Police Department were also on-scene providing Medical and Law Enforcement/Traffic assistance.

235-Assistant-Chief-1 had overall Incident Command.

Fire units brought the fire under control and contained further spread.
