Today we highlight the on-going training and education that our EMS Providers maintain throughout the year & in their careers. EMS is constantly updating itself with new skills & procedures that we need to stay on top of.
๐๐ค๐ก๐๐๐๐ฎ ๐๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ฟ ๐จ๐ฉ๐ง๐๐ซ๐๐จ ๐ฉ๐ค ๐ข๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ช๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฃ ๐ ๐๐ค๐ง๐ ๐๐ก๐๐ข๐๐ฃ๐ฉ of our operations. We host classes & programs that not only train our personnel but also those in surrounding agencies. This past year several of personnel completed certifications at the EMR, EMT, & A-EMT levels. Our personnel also have access to Allegheny Health Network – Prehospital Care Services educational programs and instructor network. Plum EMS also provides us with access to their staff and equipment for joint-training. This past summer we also hosted a CCAC Public Safety Institute certification class for EMR.
๐๐ง๐ค๐ข ๐ ๐ฉ๐ง๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐จ๐ฉ๐๐ฃ๐๐ฅ๐ค๐๐ฃ๐ฉ, we have several certified educators on our department roster:
EMS Instructors – 3 (PA Dept of Health)
CPR Instructors – 3 (American Heart Association)
Stop the Bleed Instructors – 2
ALS Skills – 1 (AHN)
๐๐ง๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐ฅ๐ช๐๐ก๐๐ ๐๐จ ๐ ๐๐ฎ as we also offer some programs like our Summer Camp and CPR training classes to help educate the community when seconds count. Whether its the local Boy/Cub Scout Troops, Church Group, or the Plum Soccer Association, we have built custom first aid sessions for them.
